Reading might be my go-to choice for a sunny day, rainy day, snowy day...actually any day! I got into reading books when I was in 2nd grade, starting with Rainbow Magic and Puppy Place! (Don't laugh!😊) Now, I read a broad range of genres from realistic fiction to historical fiction to mystery/thriller. Here are some of my favorites!
The Inheritance Games involves a little bit of thriller and romance, but it is centered around mystery. I love how Jennifer Lynn Barnes weaves the stories together, and how all the secrets unravel after you read the novellas as well with the main books! This series follows the story of Avery Grambs, a teenager invisible at her high school, who is mysteriously left to inherit a stranger's entire billion fortune. Avery's journey takes the reader across various puzzles to discover why she was left with so much money and what she has to do with all of the Hawthornes.
Sunkissed is a relatable and funny romance novel by one of my favorite authors, Kasie West. It follows Avery, who is forced to spend her summer at a no-internet camp. She is usually predictable and likes to stay in her comfort zone listening to music, so her goal is to try new things. What could be better than helping write a song for a struggling band...and a nice guy named Brooks? Be ready to pull an all-nighter if you pick up this book!
I love My Life With The Walter Boys!!! This duology is so sweet, and can be relatable to everyone. There are themes of trying your best and going with the flow. It's a romance novel with a major love triangle - two of the Walter boys like Jackie, and she has feelings for both of them. Meanwhile, she's dealing with her parent's grief, new home, and fitting in at a high school where everyone has heard her story. This series will definitely leave you laughing and swooning along the way! (p.s. check out the show, too!)
